The greens drainage project has started! Hole number 6 will be the first hole to have the drainage installed! Please do not attempt to play this hole until it is reopened! Tonight and tomorrow the forecast is for more rain. I can only hope that we do not receive any but that is not likely.
We received over 1/2" of rain yesterday! The golf course is open, however it is very wet! No carts will be allowed on the golf course this weekend! Please remember to replace your divot and repair your ball marks!! Thank You!
The golf course was beginning to dry out very nice until now. Its currently raining and we are expected to receive over a quarter inch of rain. I will keep you posted on the golf course conditions as much as possible.
The golf course is open, however it remains wet! Carts will not be allowed on the golf course until further notice. Please remember to repair your ball marks!!
The greens drainage project will be beginning on Monday April 14! It will be completed on holes 1,6,7 & 8. The process involves removing strips of sod every 6 feet, digging a trench about 16" deep, installing the drain pipe, back filling the trenches with an appropriate sand mix and finally putting the sod back in place. The process will take 1 to 2 days per green. The golf course will remain open during this process however the hole that is being worked on that day will be closed. I will be removing the tee markers from the closed hole and putting a sign on the tee box stating "Hole Closed".
After the drainage is installed, the hole will reopen within 1 day. The work will be performed by Golf Preservations from Middlesboro, KY. |
