We received 2.4" of rain yesterday! The golf course is soggy but it is open for the first round of the Commodore's Cup! It is very important to remember to fix your ball marks and fill/ replace your divots!!
Due to the heavy rain today, the golf course will be closed for the remainder of the day!
The weather forecast looks good for this week with a few warm days in the early part of the week followed by some cooler days with light showers. Greens 1,6,7 and 8 are healing well from the drainage installation! The drain lines are beginning to blend in with the remaining greens and they will fade even more in time. The remaining greens which were aerated last Monday May 5 are also healing well. They should be mostly healed just in time for the Commodore's Cup this weekend!
During the next few weeks, we will be adding some carts paths to the golf course! Please use the cart paths wherever they are available! It is an important practice to help protect your golf course! The golf course will be closed on Monday May 5, 2014 for aerification! We will only be aerating greens 2,3,4,5,9 and PG!! The other greens need more time to heal from the drainage project before we can aerify them. We will also be aerating Par 3 tee boxes. The weather forecast looks good for Monday so we should be back open on Tuesday!
Thank you for your patience and understanding!!! After receiving a large amount of rain yesterday, the new drainage system in greens 1,6,7 and 8 have performed very well. They are significantly drier than the other greens! |
